The new album 'Breakout' by Miley Cyrus sold 371,000 copies in the first week on sale, ending July 27, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That's the second-biggest sales week of the year for a female artist, following the 463,000 debut of Mariah Carey's "E=MC2" in April.
Cyrus' last album, "Hannah Montana 2 (Soundtrack)/Meet Miley Cyrus," started at No. 1 last July with 326,000. And The first "Hannah Montana" soundtrack, which launched her recording career, also bowed at No. 1 in 2006, with first-week sales of 281,000.
